Tom Davidson

Tom Davidson and EyeBot

Tom has been playing with computers for way too long beginning with his first one, an Altair 8800. Tom’s background is in Electrical and Computer Engineering and he has worked for the likes of North Shore Circuit Design and Dell.

Tom’s group projects have included the Packet Radio Robot, the Schwa Stay Awake Sumou Robot, improvements to RoboVision (which made its debut at RoboFest 7), and helping out with the Oversized Hexapod Walker.

His current project, EyeBot is based on the Mobile Platform mechanics and uses R/C truck speed controllers and servos. EyeBot has undergone environmental testing in harsh conditions such as those found in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert and local Texas Hill Country locations.

In his spare time Tom tinkers with his Jet-skis, and his ’71 BSA Lightning motorcycle.

He served on the Board of Directors for years. Tom also set-up and managed The Robot Group’s computer network.
